Dr. Brittney Emery joined Flamborough Family Eyecare as an optometrist in 2021, but you might recognize her familiar face—she’s been working with us as a student intern since we opened our clinic in 2015.
Dr. Emery grew up in Dundas and received her Honours Bachelor of Science from McMaster University. She went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo, where she graduated with distinction.
Her training included an ocular disease rotation working with an ophthalmologist where she gained exposure to various ocular diseases including macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.
During her time at Waterloo, she participated in a 3 week mission trip to Senegal to provide optometric care to underprivileged communities and she hopes to be able to participate in more trips in the future!
Dr. Emery has a passion for working with children and has a special interest in myopia control. She prides herself on making strong, lasting connections with her patients and strives to create an environment where patients feel comfortable to ask questions to better understand their diagnoses, treatment, and management of their conditions.
Outside of the office, you can find Dr. Emery spending a lot of time outdoors. She loves hiking, running, and skiing.
Dr. Emery is thrilled to be working with Flamborough Family Eyecare and looks forward to seeing you for all of your vision needs!
